The 1960/70s is the direction that I took my personal theme owing to the fact that it offers a wide range of opportunities concerning my art as there was a huge juxtaposition between the social and political aspects during the time. For instance, the social movements such as hippie culture and the peace movement were seen as very psychedelic, peaceful and bright whereas on the flip side, the political aspects were much darker as this was during the time of the assassination of John F Kennedy and the Vietnam war. I think this will be interesting to try and recreate as I like the idea of the contrasting aspects merged together into one piece of art.

The Woodstock Music and Art Festival was on 15th August 1969. It is arguably one of most profound events in the history of music. I want to include it in my art as my personal theme is 1960s and 70s  and Woodstock is one of the most famous events during this time. It would open the possibilities of using famous music artists such a Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who and Joe Cocker into my artwork.
